Best banks 2023
3 Société Générale entities rewarded again by Global Finance magazine
Global Finance has announced the winners of the 30th edition of the Best Bank awards 2023.
3 Societe Generale banks have been named "Best Banks 2023" on their geographies by the magazine:
- Société Générale Cameroun, for the fifth consecutive year;
- Société Générale Madagasikara, for the third consecutive year, and the subsidiary's third participation;
- Société Générale Sénégal, for the sixth consecutive year.
The 2023 winners were selected from 36 countries and territories in Africa. The winners are those banks that attended carefully to their customers’ needs in difficult markets and accomplished strong results while laying the foundations for future success. Winning organizations also managed their assets and liabilities in a savvy way in light of the fast-changing interest rate scenarios.
“As the banking crisis spreads [...], identifying the best banks regarding services, stability and institutional knowledge is more important than ever,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance. “This year’s Best Bank Awards recognize the financial institutions that offer the broadest range of services as well as the reliability required for long-term financial relationships.”
All selections were made by the editors of Global Finance after extensive consultations with corporate financial executives, bankers and banking consultants, and analysts throughout the world.
Global Finance considered factors that ranged from the quantitative objective to the informed subjective. Objective criteria considered included: growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development and innovation in products. Subjective criteria included the opinions of equity analysts, credit rating analysts, banking consultants and others involved in the industry.
With these awards, the Group and its subsidiaries have once again demonstrated their ability to adapt in uncertain times, their unwavering commitment and the efforts made to meet the needs of their customers.
