Call for applications closed: + 40% applications

Since January 9, African entrepreneurs had just over four weeks to apply on the Women In Africa (WIA) platform.

The objective? Be one of the 54 women entrepreneurs selected, each representing one of the African countries in one of the eight 2020 categories: education, health, agriculture and agribusiness, fintech, digital and technology, climate and sustainable development, creative industries and finally beauty industry.

More than 3,700 women applied, more than 40% more applications than the previous year. For this new edition all the countries are represented, even Eritrea which was missing until then. Out of all the files received, just over 1,600 are eligible.

The month of March will therefore be entirely devoted to the selection stage since only 54 files will be successful.

The winners will be revealed in April before flying off in June to Marrakech where they will benefit from training sessions and networking at the Women in Africa International Summit (25 & 26 June 2020).
